Grimes

Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY; born 17 March the 17th of March, 1988), known professionally as Grimes, is an Canadian musician who sings, writes songs, recording producer, and singer. [2][3] The range of her music from the beginning is described as "lo lo R&B" as well as "futuristic dance-pop". Her music has included elements of hip-hop electronic, rock and hip hop. The majority of her lyrics draw on science-fiction themes as well as feminist themes. The singer has recorded five albums. Grimes came from Vancouver before moving to Montreal. She began her independent career in the latter part of the early 2000s. In 2010, she released two albums through Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. After contracting with 4AD her popularity grew with the charts with Visions the third studio album. Visions features the singles "Genesis" as well as "Oblivion" and received the Canadian music industry Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. After this, the fourth album of her studio, Art Angels, was released in 2015 and received high praise from critics as several publications called it the top album of 2015. [6] Her fifth studio album, Miss Anthropocene, was out in 2020. Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. She also was part of Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
